Description

The Whittet-Higgins BEARHUG (BHM series) is a high-strength, prevailing-torque self-locking bearing locknut that threads onto a shaft or sleeve to retain and preload bearings without a separate lockwasher or a cut shaft keyway. A hardened alloy locknut body carries high axial loads, while an integral heat-stabilized polymer locking ring engages the threads to hold the assembly secure against vibration, shock, and torque.

It offers infinite adjustment and preloading capability without damaging the shaft threads, and is balanced for higher-speed, high-precision assemblies. The BEARHUG meets and exceeds ANSI/ABMA 8.2-1999 and is manufactured in the USA.
