Description
The Whittet-Higgins N-068 is a small-profile bearing locknut that threads onto a shaft to secure, lock, and retain bearings and power-transmission assemblies under lighter axial loads. Its reduced outside diameter and width suit limited-space installations, and it is matched with a W-000 series lockwasher whose tab engages the nut to provide accurate angular positioning across numerous locking positions while preventing loosening from vibration, shock, and torque. Sizes N-048 and larger include a PP locking plate, and no special tools are required for installation on soft or hardened shafts. Manufactured from carbon steel in the USA and RoHS compliant, it meets and exceeds ANSI/ABMA 8.2-1999.
