Description

The Whittet-Higgins WS-02 is a corrosion-resistant stainless steel bearing lockwasher used to secure, lock, and retain bearings and power-transmission assemblies on a shaft. It is matched with NS series locknuts, with an inner tongue that keys to the shaft and a bendable outer tab that seats into a slot of the mating locknut.

This arrangement provides accurate angular positioning across numerous locking positions and prevents assembly loosening caused by vibration, shock, and torque. No special tools are required for installation, and the washer is effective on both soft and hardened shafts.

Rated for operation up to 300 Deg F and manufactured in the USA (RoHS compliant), the WS-02 meets and exceeds ANSI / ABMA 8.2-1999.
