Description

The Whittet-Higgins BASM-07 is a metric assembly socket installation tool that encapsulates the outside diameter of a bearing locknut and exerts force on all four spanner slots at once, preventing the socket from slipping and avoiding installation damage to the locknut, bearing, and assembly. It is used with KM, KML, KMM, KMS, BM, BML, BMM, BMS, and BMT series bearing locknuts to provide more accurate adjusting and preloading of bearings and other power transmission components. A square drive connects the socket to standard ratchets, torque wrenches, and pneumatic drivers. The base socket is carbon steel with hardened tool steel pins, is rated to a maximum operating temperature of 300 degrees F, and is manufactured in the USA and RoHS compliant.
