Description

The Whittet-Higgins BEARHUG (stainless) is a one-piece, prevailing-torque self-locking bearing retention nut that replaces the traditional locknut-and-lockwasher assembly. A stainless steel nut body works with an integral heat-stabilized polymer locking ring to grip the shaft thread and hold preload against vibration, shock and torque, without cutting a keyway or damaging the shaft threads.

Its balanced construction suits higher-speed, high-precision and corrosive-environment assemblies while providing infinite adjustment and preloading. The BEARHUG (stainless) meets and exceeds ANSI/ABMA 8.2-1999, carries a 160 degrees F maximum operating temperature, and is manufactured in the USA and RoHS compliant.
