Description
The Whittet-Higgins BEARHUG is a prevailing torque, self-locking bearing locknut machined from hardened alloy for high axial loading capacity. A heat-stabilized polymer locking ring engages the shaft threads to keep the assembly from loosening under vibration, shock, and torque, while permitting infinite adjustment and preloading without damaging the threads or requiring a keyway. It threads directly onto metric shafts and replaces the traditional locknut-and-lockwasher combination for faster, balanced installation in higher-speed assemblies. The BEARHUG meets and exceeds the specifications of ISO 2982-2:2013(E).
