Description
The Whittet-Higgins CNC10-11S is a one-piece, mechanically self-locking clampnut with a coarse (UNC) thread, designed to retain and preload components on a threaded shaft without a separate locknut and lockwasher. Locking and adjustment are achieved through a tangential (X-axis) socket-head clamp screw that contracts the threaded body around the shaft, providing infinite adjustment and preload while not damaging the shaft threads. The standard nut uses a carbon steel base with a hardened alloy clamp screw and a black oxide with wax finish for corrosion resistance, with stainless steel and aluminum alloy versions also offered in the same series. It carries a maximum operating temperature rating of 300 deg F, is manufactured in the USA, and is RoHS compliant.
