Description
The Whittet-Higgins W series bearing lockwasher is a carbon steel retaining washer used with N / AN / NL series bearing locknuts to secure, lock, and retain bearings and power transmission assemblies on a shaft. An inner tang keys into the shaft keyway while the washer's outer tabs bend into the slots of the mating locknut, delivering accurate angular positioning across numerous locking positions and preventing assembly loosening caused by vibration, shock, and torque.
Effective on both soft and hardened shafts and requiring no special installation tools, it meets and exceeds ANSI / ABMA 8.2-1999. Each lockwasher is manufactured in the USA, is RoHS compliant, and is rated for operating temperatures up to 300°F.
