KML / KMM Series Bearing Locknuts – Metric, Left-Hand & High-Strength

Two specials off the KM metric platform. KML carries a left-hand thread, for shafts whose rotation would unscrew a right-hand nut. KMM is machined from hardened alloy instead of carbon steel, raising the clamp load the nut can carry before the spanner slots begin to deform. Both keep KM envelope dimensions, so they drop into an existing metric bearing seat.

KML / KMM Series Specifications

• Part numbers: KML-05 through KML-34; KMM-00 through KMM-30 (54 sizes stocked)
• Bore / shaft size: 10 mm to 170 mm
• Outside diameter: 18 mm to 220 mm
• Material & temperature: KML carbon steel; KMM hardened alloy steel. Both black oxide, 300°F maximum operating temperature
• Standards: ISO 2982-2:2013(E); made in USA, RoHS compliant

Applications

KML for counter-rotating and double-ended metric shafts; KMM for heavily preloaded metric spindles, mill and press drives, and any seat where a carbon steel KM nut is at its clamp-load limit.
