Axial Spherical Roller Bearing, single direction with sheet steel cage
The Nachi 29428 EXS1 is a large single-direction axial spherical roller bearing with a 140 mm shaft washer bore, 280 mm housing washer outside diameter and 85 mm assembly height. Asymmetric barrel rollers run against a spherical raceway in the housing washer, which gives the bearing an enormous axial capacity while still allowing the shaft washer to swivel and take up misalignment, something a plain thrust ball bearing cannot do. It will also carry a limited radial load alongside the thrust. Extruder drives, crane hooks, vertical pump shafts and marine thrust blocks are typical positions. Sheet steel cage, rated -30 to +200 degrees C.
