The Nachi 30324 is a large single-row tapered roller bearing supplied complete as cone and cup, with a 120 mm bore, 260 mm outside diameter and 59.5 mm assembly width. The raceways and rollers are all machined on a common apex, so the roller ends stay square to the raceways and the bearing carries heavy radial and axial load simultaneously in one direction. Two bearings are normally fitted face to face or back to back so the pair locates the shaft in both directions, and the resulting clearance or preload is set during assembly, which is why tapered rollers dominate wheel hubs, pinion shafts and gearbox output positions. Sheet steel cage, rated -30 to +120 degrees C.
