Deep Groove Ball Bearing, open design with machined brass cage
The Nachi 6838 MY is a very large open deep groove ball bearing with a 190 mm bore, 240 mm outside diameter and 24 mm width, built around a machined brass cage. Brass is specified in the larger sizes because it stands up to high temperature, poor lubrication and shock better than a pressed steel cage, and it damps the ball set more effectively at speed. Normal CN clearance, open on both sides for oil or grease, rated -20 to +120 degrees C.
