BLC Series BEARLOK Locking Collars – Keyless Shrink Disc

The BLC series is a BEARLOK balanced locking collar — a shrink-disc-style collar that self-locks onto a smooth, keyless shaft. Tightening the socket head cap screws draws a hardened compression ring over a slit, externally tapered base nut, forcing a uniform 360° grip right to the centre of the shaft. Holding capacity is well above a conventional clamp or set-screw collar, and because the grip is symmetrical the collar stays dynamically balanced at speed.

Applications

Locating sprockets, sheaves, couplings and bearings on keyless shafting; high-speed rotating assemblies where a set-screw would mar the shaft or throw the assembly out of balance.
