SNW Series Bearing Adapter Sets & Adapter Sleeve Assemblies
An SNW bearing adapter set mounts a tapered-bore bearing onto smooth, unstepped shafting. Each set comprises a tapered adapter sleeve, a matching threaded locknut from the N or AN series, and a tongued W series lockwasher. Drawing the nut up the taper expands the sleeve against the shaft and seats the bearing concentrically, which gives infinite axial adjustment and accurate, repeatable preload without machining a shoulder or a keyway into the shaft.
