Description
The SKF TKSA 31 Laser Shaft Alignment Tool is an accurate, easy-to-use system designed for aligning horizontal rotating machinery. Combining guided alignment software, large laser detectors and a dedicated color touchscreen display, the TKSA 31 helps maintenance professionals accurately align motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes, compressors and other coupled machines.
The SKF TKSA 31 uses the proven three-position 9–12–3 o’clock measurement method to evaluate angular and parallel shaft misalignment. Its automatic measurement function detects when the measuring units are in the correct positions and captures each reading without requiring repeated interaction with the display. Large 29 mm CCD detectors and red line lasers simplify setup and reduce the need for extensive pre-alignment.
After measurement, live correction values clearly show how much the movable machine must be adjusted horizontally and vertically. The system calculates the required shim corrections at each machine foot, while the integrated soft-foot function helps identify unstable mounting conditions that could affect alignment accuracy and machine reliability.
A built-in machine library stores equipment records and previous alignment results for organized maintenance tracking. The TKSA 31 also generates customizable PDF shaft alignment reports that can be exported through a USB drive, making it easy to document completed work and provide proof of alignment.
With measuring accuracy of less than 0.5% ±5 μm and a working distance of up to 2 meters using the supplied cables, the SKF TKSA 31 shaft alignment system provides a practical balance of accuracy, simplicity and affordability. Proper laser shaft alignment can help reduce vibration, bearing and seal wear, energy consumption and unexpected equipment downtime while extending overall machine service life.
