RTD / RTDM Series Rethreading Dies

A damaged shaft thread is usually why a locknut will not run down square, and a cocked nut is why the bearing fails again. RTD (inch) and RTDM (metric) rethreading dies clean and repair bearing shaft threads in place — chasing burrs, nicks and corrosion back to the original profile without cutting new material and without pulling the shaft. Sizes correspond directly to the Whittet-Higgins locknut thread series.

• Bore / shaft size (metric): 10 mm to 120 mm
• Material & temperature: Case-hardened carbon steel; 300°F maximum operating temperature
• Standards: RTD to ANSI/ABMA 8.2-1999, RTDM to ISO 2982-2:2013; made in USA

Shaft thread repair during bearing replacement, spindle rebuild and field service, especially after a nut has been driven with a hammer and drift.
